I was thinking of either doing a kinetic object or projection mapping on models.
With a kinetic object I was thinking of foldable structures, surfaces that can expand and retract. Similar to maybe origami structures / knitting techniques. E.g. use it to make a shape that can be "morphed" by motors pulling strings. However I'm afraid this may end up being too much engineering for me.
Projection mapping on models i was thinking of using either fungi (gills, voronoi patterns) or anatomy for visual direction.
